ID+ Desis Lab at Creative Powers For Europe, Malmo 2016

In November 2016, Prof. Teresa Franqueira from University of Aveiro (Portugal) was invited to Creative Powers For Europe as a panelists to enhance the discourse around Embracing Culture and Creativity in the Wider Economy, among with Navid Modiri (moderator), Loïc Fel – Coalition for art and sustainable development (COAL) and Sigvald Harryson, Founder and CEO, Innoventum AB

Creative Powers for Europe is a European idea convention organised by the national and regional authorities, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Arts Council and Region Skåne, for discovering new ways to support cultural and creative industries in contributing to the social, economic and environmental values.

ID+ Desis Lab at EBN Congress 16 — Design for Innovation

In September 2016, ID+ Desis Lab Team from University of Aveiro (Portugal) was invited to colaborate at EBN Congress 2016 and organize a short co-design workshop to enhance business idea generation discussion and scenario building.

Prof. Teresa Franqueira was also invited as a panelists to enhance the discourse around Design for Social and Sustainable Innovation.

This initiative was organized by EBN Network and BICMINHO, was held on September 29 at the Vila Flor Cultural Center in Guimarães in a collaborative design laboratory format for social innovation.

ID+ Desis Lab at MELES – “More Entrepreneurial Life at European Schools” Aveiro Summer School

In July 2016, Prof. João Sampaio from University of Aveiro (Portugal) was invited to colaborate at Meles Summer School to organize a co-design workshop to enhance business idea generation discussion and scenario building.

MELES is a European project that has as main goal the provision of training in the area of entrepreneurship and is intended for students who wish to acquire knowledge and skills in this area and whose curricula do not offer them.

ID+ Desis Lab at Reciprocity, Liège 2015

In October 2015, Prof. Teresa Franqueira from University of Aveiro (Portugal) was invited to Reciprocity Liège as a panelists to enhance the discourse around sustainable architecture at both an international and local level, addressing issues of accessibility & best practices including low-energy impact solutions, renovation or construction, and reuse of building materials.

ID+ DESIS Lab (Portugal) collaboration with Tongji DESIS Lab and Product Service system design masterclass

In May 2016, Prof. Teresa Franqueira from University of Aveiro (Portugal) was invited to teach the “Design for social innovation” master course, which was a key course of Product Service System Design Master Program. This cooperation between ID+ DESIS Lab (Aveiro) and Tongji DESIS Lab (Shanghai) was under the framework of DESIS Network – Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability.

ID+ Desis Lab at Social Innovation Workshops (OIS-IERA)

From December 2014 to March 2015, ID+ Desis Lab Team (Teresa Franqueira, João Sampaio and Raphaella Fischer as OIS-IERA Design Team), colaborate in OIS-IERA Project. In addition to several ethnographic research activities and project communication and media, they were responsible for the definition and dynamization of the Social Innovation Workshop that took place between March and April 2015.

These workshops had the following themes:

Health and Care (Ovar, 26 and 27 March);
Tourism & Environmental Preservation (Anadia, 31 March and 1st April)
Agriculture and Gastronomy (Sever do Vouga, 9 and 10 April)
Cultural Heritage & Valorisation of Heritage (Ílhavo, 16 and 17 April )

This project constitutes one of the axes of action of an integrated strategy of Social Innovation for the Region of Aveiro, whose aims correspond to the European guidelines, in particular to the Horizon 2020, in matters of Social Innovation. Integrated in the Platform for the Valorization of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, this pilot project of Social Innovation counts on the partnership of the Municipalities of the Aveiro Region and the University of Aveiro, within the scope of the Business Incubator of Aveiro Region (IERA).
The pilot project of Social Innovation deals in particular with the promotion of the development of a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Region of Aveiro and, in this sense, develops:
– Mapping Social Innovation Opportunities and Resources identified in the territory;
– Dissemination of the potential of Social Innovation of the Region of Aveiro;
– Integration of Alumni from Aveiro University in the dynamics of Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship;
– Realization of the Social Innovation Workshops (OIS).
